Cooking Rice in the Instant Pot
Cooking rice in an Instant Pot is the easiest, and in my opinion the best, way to cook rice. It’s straightforward, fast, and
you get tasty perfectly cooked rice each time- it’s the only way I ever cook rice anymore.
Here’s how to cook perfect rice every time in an Instant Pot, in under 15 minutes:
1. Measure out however much rice you want to make, and add to the pot.
2. Use a 1:1 ratio of rice to water, and add water to pot. I like to add just about 1-2 tbsp more water to ensure that pressure will build, and the rice won’t be dry.
3. Seal the lid, ensure the knob is turned to “sealing”, then cook on high pressure for 3 minutes. Allow pressure to release naturally, about 7-10 minutes
LEARNING CURVE - SOMETHING TO NOTE
There *is* such a thing as making too little rice when you’re using a pressure cooker, because the pressure cooker needs a certain amount of liquid in order to build pressure.
I’d say you need to be cooking a minimum of ¼ cup rice if you are using this method to cook rice.
